Narran Lakes

Narran Lakes - the largest freshwater Lake in NSW

Although noted as the largest freshwater lake in NSW, access and entry to the Narran Lakes National Park is restricted and prior arrangements must be made with NSW Department of Environment and Climate Change at Narrabri on 02 6792 7300.

The Narran Lakes is a sanctuary for birdlife including Water Fowl, Pelicans, Black Swan, Ibis and Native Ducks as they breed on the many scattered islands located on the ‘Lake’. Please do not feel disappointed as access is limited but recognise that this natural wildlife habitat is being preserved for future generations.
