Heritage Studies

The NSW Government provides financial assistance through the NSW Heritage Grants Local Government Heritage Management Program to local government across NSW to establish, develop and implement a program for the management of its local heritage.

Brewarrina Shire Council values its community's heritage and has endeavoured to assist the community in understanding their heritage through:

• The appointment of Heritage Advisors to produce the Community Based Heritage Study and the Aboriginal Heritage Study .
• Annually providing funding for community members to assist in the restoration of community buildings through the Heritage Funding Program.

The Community Based Heritage Study was originally undertaken by Mrs Elaine Thompson and completed by Dr Laila Haglund in 2008.

The Aborginal Heritage Study was completed by Dr Laila Haglund in 2012.
