Workshop Mechanic

Brewarrina Shire Council has a substantial road construction budget and is seeking to appoint a fully qualified Diesel Mechanic with skills and abilities to program and complete general maintenance and plant repair work.  This is a full time position and the rewards include a competitive wage with super, overtime and subsidised accommodation.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and/or experienced individuals for the Goodooga Workshop Mechanic position.

The Mechanic position, will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of tasks, with a primary focus on safe and efficient service delivery. Potential for over Award Allowance negotiable for outstanding applicants.
Applicants will need to demonstrate:

Experienced and qualified Diesel Mechanic.
  • An ability to supervise personnel.
  • An ability to assist in the formulation of the weekly programing activities.
  • Demonstrated experience in operating & servicing a variety of plant & equipment.
  • Sound written & oral communication skills

All applicants must have a Class C driver’s license and basic knowledge of WH&S principles (White Card). Demonstrated  ability to keep accurate records and work in a team environment.  (Rates will be dependent on qualifications and experience). Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2020.
