Customer Service Officer


Applications are invited from suitably qualified/experienced individuals for the position of Customer Service Officer.  Some of the key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Assist with day to day operation of Council’s Administration and Finance Section.
  • Assist with revenue collection, end of day reconciliations, receipting, cashiering and banking duties as directed.
  • Deliver administrative support to all Managers and respond to telephone enquiries.
  • Providing quality customer service to staff and external customers                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       
  • Relief Library / Centrelink / VIC / Technical Services Admin as required.

The applicant will need to demonstrate some of the following:           

  • Cash handling & daily banking
  • Effective oral & written communications skills
  • Maintenance of daily records
  • Good Computer Skills
  • Data input and general filing duties
  • Record maintenance
  • Experience in providing high-quality customer service
  • Ability to work as part of a productive team

Applicants must have at least Year 10 education or equivalent and a minimum of two years administration / clerical experience. The position is currently classified as Band 2, Level 1, Grade 5 Step 1 - 4, $28.20 - $34.29 per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience). Conditions of the employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2017.
