Brewarrina Shire Council in accordance with the requirements of the Anti-Discrimination Act (1977) and the Local Government Act (1993) has a legislative responsibility in regard to its employment practices to:-

  • eliminate and ensure the absence of discrimination in employment on the grounds of age, race, sex, marital status and physical impairment; and
  • promote equal employment opportunity for women, members of racial minorities and physically handicapped persons.

Brewarrina Shire Council also recognised it has a responsibility to ensure the absence of discrimination in employment on the grounds of age, sexuality, pregnancy, marital status literacy and intellectual impairment.
