Centrelink

The Brewarrina Shire Council acts as an agency for Centrelink and offers Centrelink facilities from the Brewarrina Library, located at the Council offices. Centrelink is open Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 4.30pm for customer self-serve access to the Centrelink computers.

Customer Service Officers visit the agency from Bourke on a regular basis to assist and meet with Centrelink customers. To make an appointment or to find out more information please telephone 02 6830 5107 to speak to one of Councils helpful Staff members.

"Big Sky Library" is the new name and brand for the old "North West Slopes and Plains Library Co-operative", a partnership between Moree, Walgett and Brewarrina Shire Councils. The library operates at, 57 Bathurst Street, Brewarrina and you will find the entrance to the library on the right-hand-side before you enter Council's front foyer.

The library has not only experienced a name change but also a change in services available, many of which can be accessed on the libraries now web site;

The community is encouraged to check out the Big Sky Library web page and take a look at the services our library can offer you;

• Did you know you can temporarily join the library "on-line"?
• Did you know you can borrow e-books and e-magazines on-line and down load them at tome on your I-phone or I-pad? Once your a member you don't even have to come into the library, you just need access to WI-FI.
• Did you know that once you have borrowed a book you can renew the loan "on-line" and save yourself a trip to the library?
• Did you know you can order a book from one of our "Big Sky Library" members and it can be sent from another site to the Brewarrina Library, ready for you to pick up and read.
• Did you know that if you're a student and need to access a reference book, magazine, newspaper or periodical on-line, you can from the Big Sky Library website
• The new website has a facility called "know what to read next" - with a little bit of information from you and will make recommendations on what books you may enjoy reading next?

Depending on Staff availability you may be required to use the "self-service" function available to customers to borrow books at your leisure.

Services NSW - Brewarrina

The Brewarrina Shire Council acts as an agent for Services NSW (formerly the Roads and Traffic Authority). This service is currently offered out of the Library building attached to Council Chambers.

Services include motor vehicle and boat licences and registrations, firearms transactions, NSW Seniors Card transactions, NSW Fair Trading transactions, NSW Housing applications and transactions, NSW DPI - Fisheries licence, NSW Births, Deaths and Marriages certificates, NSW National Parks and Wildlife National Park passes.

Hours of Operation:

Monday and Friday: 9:00 to 12:00 then 1:00pm to 4:00pm (closed for lunch 12:00pm -1:00pm)
